Surrender
This may surprise you.
But some days I feel like throwing up the white flag.
Cowering in a corner.
Some days I'm just too tired, too emotional, and too angry to go on.
Some days I give up.
Today is one of those days.
*****EDIT*****
Turns out - there is no surrender. Not on this battlefield....
I appreciate very much your words of support - and love - they helped me to realize the above. Again.

I'm putting the last wheel on my wagon. I'll bring it on up to you today and pile you in it. Drag you around for the day.
So you can be mild and quiet and sort of givey-uppy today, but still move forward with the support of your friends.
(Tomorrow, we can pile Batman into the wagon and send her down a hill in her flipflops.)
Thinking of you today, N.
Hi Nicole.
Never, ever, ever give up.
Somerset? I was born right across the bridges in FR.
Hope the day gets better for you.
Don't give up!!
Do you want me to drive down and test you and dose you and weigh your food? I would, you know.
Nicole,
I've had those days before. But, you know in your heart that you will be OK. Things will get better, they may not be perfect, but they will be better.
(((hug)))
I know how you feel (I think, though I hate it when people say that, so sorry). I hope that tomorrow is a better day and that you don't throw in the towel just yet. I don't think I've told you how much I enjoy reading your thoughts. I really do. Thank you for sharing part of yourself with me, and all of us.
Thinking of you!
Nicole, I am sending big hugs and hopes that tomorrow you will take back your incredible energy and power.
Oh yeah. Me too.
K - Your word wagon is great - even with only 3 wheels... TY.
J - I live about two seconds from Brightman St. Churchill said that bit about never, ever... It's good advice. TY for commenting here.
S - I know you would - and that means the world to me. I could have used a tester, food weigher, etc. today. Someday I may just take you up on it... TY for offering... :)
P - Too many highs. Too many lows. Too much... But the words here, amazingly, do make me feel better.
A - Thank you for being open to sharing them. And no, I don't mind your saying that, it is nice to feel not *so* alone on days like this.
V - Thank you so much - and I will absolutely add you to the Think on Things list.
MN - Man, days like this are trying... I'll be thinking of you too.
Nicole, You're too, too good to give up. I don't know how you feel, I'm still new at this. More hugs, from me...
As my friend w/ MS wrote (about you!), The other blogger that wished better health for her friend is the type of person that makes the world a better place & drives all of the fund raising for charities. Where would we be without them?
Sorry I'm late here. I know that sometimes we are pushed to our very limits and feel like throwing in the towel.
But I'm glad you already came to the only possible conclusion.
In the words of Scarlett O'Hara (yeah I know a fictional character, but still...), "Tomorrow is another day."
C - Thank you so much. Yesterday, this morning, and today were a heck of a time in so many ways. I'll likely write more about it soon... But tonight I'm trying to manage a new perspective. Your kind words help a great deal.
JB - Thanks. SO is at least a larger than life fictional character.
After reading your post, I was relieved to see your edit.
It is easy to see how special you are and the wonderful impact you make on so many lives.
I have read your blog for awhile, and I know you are strong. I also know you are human and that makes you beautiful.
I am glad you are fighting another day.
Well Nicole, we have all been there...... I think it was Monday that I had the exact same feeling! But I know that you will pick yourself up again!
Hang in there, Nicole! Things will get better. I think sometimes we have to go through the rough stuff before we get to the good stuff. Here's hoping the rough stuff goes by quickly for you.
Nicole
Sorry you had such a bad day. There's a group getting together in Woburn, MA on Saturday November 10th for World Diabetes Day. Any chance you'd join us?
It'd be fun to see you and we can gripe about lousy diabetes day and laugh at the world together. Nothing like a bunch of crazy diabetes eating together to make things seem OK.
