Your Opinions, Please...

So, I have a Gala Event at the end of the month. I am still not fully decided on the garments...

I ordered this today:

And I'm considering spending an insane amount of money on these (but they're just so frigging great):

I also have this dress (already in hand):

And these shoes (in hand):

Any thoughts? Please. Help me decide. Purple and insane amount of money - or black with silver shoes that I already have?

Because I like the black dress better, IMHO - I say go with that and the silver pumps.

Practical Kerri says go with what you already own.

But Shoes-Lovin' Kerri says rock those purple shoes all on their own, if you have to. Damn, they're cool!

I probably will wear the black dress because it's a work event. But I'm hoping that purple dress is as cool in person as it looks online - AND I am going to spend that insane amount of money - because I WILL rock those shoes. AWESOME.

I love the purple dress and those shoes are awesome! It would be VERY stylish and pretty.

You can also pair the purple dress with the shoes you have.

Keep us posted with what you choose!

having known you in real life, I can only say I can't believe you'd even consider NOT buying those shoes!

Since it's been determined that you're already buying the shoes, you can wear them with whichever one of those adorable dresses you want. Hot!

Kassie - That made me grin. Those shoes are evil - calling out my name all nice like that.

And Hannah - I could wear the insane shoes with the black, I suppose... :)

OK - so now that I've bought the shoes. And I have both dresses. Anyone know of somewhere I can wear the outfit that I don't put on for this event?

And Hannah - get to work on your rockin girl blogger noms - and on coming up with that roller girl name you promised me... ;0

Nicole - Chris's short film made it into the RIFF. Showing is in Providence in August (dates TBD). Wear the fancy dress and come see the film with us!

Spend the money on the shoes! You'll have such a great time wearing them.

Dood, those shoes kick ass.

I don't care for the black dress that much, but I'm not big on lace. I like the cut of it better than the purple dress, though. I'd do the purple with those shoes. The silver shoes are too safe.

Are those Pucci shoes?

Nicole P said...

Julia - Yes, those are Pucci shoes - Emilio and I are BFF. I found the greatest Pucci skirt at consignment store in Providence for $37.00 - the tags were still on the thing. I was SO excited. Unfortunately, I'm not getting so lucky with the shoes - over $200.00 for those - even with a 60% markdown. Damn it. I love them, though. They are beauteous.

The black dress is actually not lace - it's like a crinkly fabric; I'm not big on lace either. I have yet to see if the cut of the purple dress will even work on me... I will keep y'all posted.

At least I've got a few ideas now... Oh and wait until I find myself some jewelry.

I am such a girl sometimes - will someone please bat the back of my head?

You only live once...I say spend the insane amont of money on the purple shoes no matter what dress you go with! No doubt-you will rock those shoes.

Rachel - It is SUMMER isn't it?? Oh, I hope that purple dress is good on me... :)

Steph!!!!! So good to see you - you MUST join www.tudiabetes.com... Come and visit my page. Do it today, honey. I need to catch up with you!!!

Well, the purple/black shoes are unbelievably great and the first dress DOES fit the shoes very, very well...... but I guess it is all a quetstion of how well the respective dresses show of your new bod and how fat your wallet is! Those shoes are FABULOUS and they might disappear never to be found again!

Nicole P said...

My wallet is not fat at all, Chrissie, but I've got a b-day coming up next week, so the shoes - which I have - and good Lord they are FABULOUS in person - are an early gift... :)

And as for the dress, I can't wait to get it so I can see.

Nicole,

I don't think the dress matters, what matters is the shoes. I think you must have the shoes.

Although the on-a-budget mom in me say that's an insane amount of money to spend on shoes. But, you only live once and you have a b-day coming up. Pamper yourself. You deserve it.

OMG crazy life. Promised entries are forthcoming.

Those shoes look like they have some black on them already, so why not? Of course, I am an advocate of loud shoes in any case, so maybe my advice should be taken with a grain of salt. Pink converse with a red skirt? Okay! Combinations of black and purple? Sounds killer.

Being a guy, I'd say just wear sneakers.

Sorry I couldn't resist. I'm only kidding of course.

Nicole P said...

Um, Bernard, if I could, I'd probably wear the funkiest pair of sneakers I could find. I'm an equal opportunity kind of girl... :)

Seriously, you have issues. Just wear the black dress and stop being such a snot to people. There are way more important things in life (including being a nice person-to name just one). You are cynical and a snob. Start concerning yourself with that, please.

Nicole P said...

Hi Diabetic -

You're right. I'm sorry. I'll get right on that.

Shannon said...

Hey Nicole,

I sang to you on Facebook. Happy Birthday to the nicest, most stylish girl I know ;)

Nicole P said...

Shannon - I am shallow, snotty, cynical and not nice at all. I might be a little bit stylish - but that also makes me vain. But the fact that you *sang* to me made my whole day... :D

What's funny is the IP Address attached to diabetic's comment is a Smiths Medical address. I think it might be the person I had to speak with about my pump break this afternoon. Weird. xo - N

Shannon said...

LMAO...get out! I can't believe that...what'd the person google you? How'd they know about your blog? Must be google.

P.S. Just imagine that I sang to you with a voice like Bette Midler, hehe.

Nicole P said...

Oh - yeah, the purple and the shoes. It's ON. For sure. Dress is so freaking cute in person...

Diabetic -

Did you know that nasty, anonymous comments are disrespectful? Did you know that your nasty anonymous comments are tracked by a statcounter service and are traceable? Did you know that you should probably leave your nasty comments from your home computer instead of your work computer? Did you know that your HR department, and the entire diabetes blogosphere, is going to have a field day with your foolishness?

Did you also know that Nicole is not only kind and good-hearted, but completely down-to-earth? And stylish?

It's a shame, Diabetic, that you let your temper get the best of you. I hope you are able to keep your job.

Nicole P said...

And that would be why I have a mad crush on Kerri.

Because she is FIERCE.

Kerri. said...

Damn straight. (I was going to say "darn tootin'" but that wouldn't have driven my point home, exactly.)
